I’m so proud of my book, Painting the Psalms, and I was even more thrilled to have rec’d this lovely review from the Booklife Prize: Idea/Concept: This is a charming, gift-style book that integrates artwork in a manner that further illuminates its interpretation of various Psalms. Burbach’s key readership will be the like-minded faithful, though […]
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.” Psalm 98:4 (KJV) This verse reminds me to celebrate God’s blessings. If I’m being honest, my prayers are often about requests, which is okay because He does want to hear everything that is on our minds. But I also want to thank Him in my prayers and make […]
Sometimes the words of a Psalm are so beautiful that I feel I must highlight them as the center of my paintings. The Psalms are works of art, all by themselves, and this verse reminds me of how precious and fragile our lives are. It speaks to the temporary nature of this world but also […]
Sometimes the words in one book of the Bible underscore the message in another book. The Bible is told from different witness accounts, and it is thrilling to see all that God promised in one book happen in another. All the books of the Bible reinforce the message that God deserves our praise. In Nehemiah […]
My favorite color is blue, and I use it a lot in my art. I’m not alone! Studies show that blue is one of the most popular favorite colors. It’s easy to forget that God created everything, even color. Scholars have argued about the significance of certain colors in the Bible, but when I think […]
I have very vivid dreams and sometimes paint the images I dream about. One night I dreamed that I was standing in front of a series of doors while at the same time holding a key. I could go wherever I wanted, through any door, and while I had the key in my hand I […]
I’ve been doing some fun, smaller paintings focused on Bible verses lately. Of course, many of these are centered on the Psalms.
One question I get a lot is from aspiring writers who want advice on their craft and how to break into the publishing world.
Well, I mentioned my blog tour recently and I wanted to give you one space where you could catch up with all the bloggy goodness from the stops I made.
I believe there are angels that protect us and guide us.
Just had to share this super sweet review I rec’d for Painting the Psalms. Shelley also posted an expanded review on her website. I’m very grateful! Thank you. I’ve also got a review at Books for Books today, which says:
Hey ya’ll! I’ve got a blog tour happening all this month for my latest book, Painting the Psalms. I’ll be doing interviews, posting reviews, and other fun, authory (because you know “authory” is a word, right? LOL) stuff. Stay tuned for more in June.
Blink and you might miss it (😂) but my book Painting the Psalms is listed in Publisher Weekly’s Book Life under new releases. (It’s the middle one on the top.) I hope you’ll check it out.
I’ve heard quite a few people argue about different versions of the Bible.
Well, you guys know I’m a big fan of the Psalms by now, right?
I got a super sweet surprise in the mail this week when copies of my latest book, Painting the Psalms, arrived!
Well, by now ya’ll know I love the Psalms. Right? I’ve talked about it, blogged about it, made ecourses about it, and now… I have a book about it. I’m super excited about the book. But promoting a book is hard work because there are lots and lots of books out there, and lots of […]
I have found the Psalms so comforting. Most of my life, even when I was a little girl, I’ve been able to look to the Psalms for inspiration, no matter what I’m experiencing or feeling. I just released a new art and faith book this week featuring the Psalms, which ends with this verse from […]
I know, I always say I’m excited when I release a new book (because I am!) but this book in particular is really special to me.
The Psalms have always been special to me. As a young girl, I read the Bible on my own and there were some things I understood and others that were way over my head.
