I’ve been doing some fun, smaller paintings focused on Bible verses lately. Of course, many of these are centered on the Psalms. Have I mentioned I like the Psalms? Maybe a time or 20?
I’ve even mentioned Psalm 30.5 here, that says:
“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
Joy, in this case, comes at the end of darkness and the beginning of a new day. Will it be here tomorrow morning? Probably not. This Psalm doesn’t mean that you go to sleep with problems and you wake up the next day and they are gone. But in God’s world, in his infinite view of things, He promises joy when we get to the dawn of our new day with Him.
While this Psalm (to me) has an eternal meaning, I also believe that there are seasons to life, and in the dark times joy does come at the start of a new season. I do believe that God brings us through things, and when we arrive at the end of something negative, He is there with His positive love and viewpoint.
Here’s a quick video that shows how I did the lettering on this tiny painting.
