Crochet Was Cool in the 70s
In this #peptober post we’re sharing what we do other than art! I used to work as a freelance writer, I’ve written many poetry books, I enjoy cooking, doing mixed media type sewing projects… but my favorite hobby is crocheting. I learned to crochet when I was about 8 and my grandma had enough of my being antsy and wanted to teach me a hobby. ?
It was the 70s, y’all! Crochet was cool. And I loved it instantly and made all kinds of stuff. I’ve kept crocheting, and over the years I have made countless afghans, sweaters, and misc. projects. I once crocheted my grandma fake carnations that looked so real she put them in a vase and kept them in her bedroom! (Or, she just told me they looked real. Kindness!)
