This painting, “Beauty Through Her Tears,” sold recently at an art fair, and I was so thrilled that it found a new home because it was one of my favorite paintings to create. I sometimes think of Psalm 56:8 which says: “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”
This means God is close to us in those desperate times when we hurt. Sometimes I think of God right next to me when I cry, not only wiping my tears but keeping them in a bottle as this Psalm’s imagery suggests, and I marvel at how precious we are to Him. It doesn’t seem possible, and yet that is exactly why it is so remarkable.
