The words of John 3:16 sometimes get a little lost. We hear them often. It’s a popular verse. And yet, one day they hit me in a more profound way: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” When I stopped to think about what that really meant in my life, it made me even more grateful.
It wasn’t just the people who had passed away already. It wasn’t just the ones around at the time of Jesus. It was ME, who had yet to be born. And YOU. God saw us yet to come to the world and wanted US with Him, and that’s why he sent His only son.
