I think mixed media art, by nature, is fun and freeing and perfect to do with anyone. It welcomes the experienced artist and the person who never picked up a paintbrush ever. I think kids naturally have a boldness in their art. It is only as we get older that we teach ourselves to get more timid about art. We tell ourselves words like “ugly” and “not good enough” and these words go beyond the colors and images we put on our canvases. Maybe you keep these words in your mind as some kind of souvenir. But you don’t need to.
One way to get back to judgement-free art is to do it with kids. Watch how they explore and allow themselves to just have fun. That’s the thing about art, it is fun. Did you know that? Do you remember it?
I’ve got five (5) mixed media projects that I think are really, really fun. I had fun doing them, and I designed them to be cheap (!) to do and simple enough that people of any skill level can do them and enjoy them. These are perfect to do with the kids, or (let’s be honest) even alone on a Sunday afternoon when you want to clear your mind and do something that calls up the freedom that you once had when you did art projects.
Here’s a peak at some of the projects we do in this ecourse:
As I write this, the ecourse is also priced at half off.
This ecourse is self-paced and made up of photos and video instruction. You can do it at your own speed. You want to do it all at once? Fine. Prefer to take it day by day? Perfect.
No judgement here. Just enjoy.
