We’ve all been spending more time at home these days, so I thought I’d share some stuff that is making me smile.
I always love the first signs of spring.
I think I mentioned that I am absolutely lousy about growing things, but I really appreciate the beauty of flowers and greenery. Being outside is one of the things that fills me with hope and makes me feel closer to God.
I’ve also been baking a lot, and recently I posted this interesting recipe I just tried for “Depression Era Chocolate Cake” and got a ton of questions about it. So here is the recipe and you should give it a whirl and see how you like it. It uses no eggs or butter.
This recipe is an easy one to whip up and share with a friend. Maybe wrap it in a tea towel as a special gift. (Just saying!)
As an added bonus, I got a cute picture from my cousin, who I just adore.
She is holding on to my book, Poiema, because she’s amazing like that.
In addition, we’ve been taking walks, enjoying nature, and taking pleasure in the simple things life brings. Those are the best kind, aren’t they?
