The mornings have meaning, don’t they? The start of a new day… the promise of what the next 24 hours holds… and just the thought that you can go to bed at night and put your troubles away because in the morning the sun will rise and your situation may look differently.
I like the thought of a new morning because to me it means promise. Starting over. A new chance.
For this painting I called upon the Psalms for inspiration, and found it in these words:
” In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
Psalm 5:3
Of course, the Lord hears us all the time. The Lord answers prayers every moment. But I like the thought of this verse, which to me encourages us to put aside our troubles for the night and just be still, and let go of it all so God can take it from us and give us peace. Then, in the morning, we can bring it up with Him again, and perhaps listen in a different way to what He is saying.
