A while back I was working on my artist statement and wondering what it is people might want to know about me as an artist. I get questions from people all the time and I wanted to create a video that helped answer more about who I am as an artist and what you can expect from my art and poetry.
But I also asked those around me. Friends, family, and especially the younger people in my life. When I was a kid, art was such a saving grace for me, and if I can help encourage kids about art I want to do that.
So I asked my little brother (Big Brothers, Big Sisters) what he wanted to know about being an artist. He asked me why I put words on my art and what happens when I make a mistake. These were both great questions! I answered them as part of my “about me” video.
