I love the King James Version of the Bible for the poetry and meaning of the words, but there are also times I enjoy more modern versions, like the NIV or occasionally, the ESV. I find inspiration in them all at different times.
For instance, while I enjoy the King James Version of the 23rd Psalm and especially “He leadeth me,” I also find inspiration in the NIV’s, “He leads me.” It’s cleaner, more direct, and calls up a different image in my mind.
