A few weeks ago a woman walked into my booth at a craft fair and bought this print. She told me she had not planned on buying anything at the show, let alone an art print! (ha!), but that my print entitled “Introvert” really spoke to her. She paid, and left.
But then last week she found me at another show and told me the rest. She said God was speaking to her lately, telling her to raise her voice. She was someone that wrote out her thoughts and had been thinking about what God wanted for her life, and that’s when she spotted my print. She now has the print in her office to inspire her as she writes.
I think God speaks to us in so many ways. We pray for answers, and He DOES answer, but sometimes it is difficult for us to hear him with all the “noise” of this world, like our well-meaning friends who give us suggestions, or social media, or our own doubts that seem to take up all our thoughts.
God continues to try to speak to us in the ways we can hear him. There have been times when I have wondered where God was, and I pray and ask Him to show himself, and then suddenly I’ll see His influence in my life. It is as if He is telling me, “I’m right here. I’ve been here all along.”
Some people are naturals at making their voice heard. For others, it requires effort. This painting is for the thinkers, the Introverts, the ones who get their energy from quiet times, and a reminder that we need all voices.
The words say: “She was a thinker, introvert, wrote her thoughts out often…. but she knew: now was the time to raise her voice.”I made this print using acrylics, oils pastels, gelatos, lace, and other ephemera.
