This weekend someone flipped through Painting the Psalms, spotted my print “They Prayed Together,” and told me they wanted it. I found the print and she bought it as an anniversary present. ⁣ ⁣ I loved that! Especially because I created this painting to honor the nightly ritual my husby and I have of standing at the kitchen counter to pray before we have dinner. (And then we take our dinner to eat in front of the TV! LOL)⁣ ⁣ I feel that taking the hand of a loved one or a friend and praying is powerful. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ https://cherieburbach.com/product/they-prayed-together/

My paintings “Her Heart Is Light” and “Bold as Love” have been accepted into the 608 Arts’ “Healing Through Arts” exhibit. As you know, art and poetry have been extremely beneficial to me, especially when I was a kid. They helped me worked through the turmoil of my younger life and figure out the world. I’m delighted to have pieces in this exhibit, which honors the importance of art in our world.

One night I thought of all the “traveling” I’ve done, not just physically but emotionally.⁣ ⁣ There are parts of our personalities that stay the same throughout our life and other parts that evolve as we change and grow. Some of us, like me, start out being born to one family and are raised in another. Some of us travel extensively, seeing many different parts of this world God created.⁣ ⁣ All of our journeys are unique. As I thought about mine one night, I created this painting to pay honor to the God who keeps us safe, guides us, and teaches us, every step along the way.
