I work most Saturdays these days in some way. Either I’m doing a show or popping in at the stores that carry my work, heading to an exhibit, or just soaking up art inspiration wherever I can.
I can’t complain about my job because it’s pretty cool. Granted, some of the things I do are outside my comfort zone, I mean really… they are still pretty cool. Especially when I think back to the corporate days where I was reminded daily how much I did not belong.
Anywho, Saturday was a busy day! It started off with coffee with my dad and brother and then shop visits and finally, the Lakefront Festival of Art. You guys, I had not been to this festival for about 15 years. Time flies! They made a lot of changes since I had been there last and I loved every one of them. They continue to improve it, and the art just gets better and better. Nothing better than a day that ends with beautiful, inspiration, works of art.
By the way, I loved this display, with the flowers and giant tube of hot pink. Ya’ll know how much I’ve been grooving on pink the last few years, right? I never liked pink, and then all of a sudden I was using it for hair color and giraffes and everything else. Now, I use pink almost as much as I use blue.
