I had such a great time at Art in the Bloom over the weekend! It was my first time doing this event, which is held at the Milwaukee Art Museum. At four days, it was also my longest show to date. (Yep, I’m a little tired today! LOL) But also very grateful and inspired.
I love everything about the Art Museum so getting to do a show there really was a dream come true. More than that, it was a dream I didn’t even know I had in my heart until I did the show.
Getting the honor of selling my art in this amazing space was a thrill! And don’t you love how the colors stand out in that beautiful white corridor?
The lighting in the building is one of the things I most enjoyed about sitting in this space. I’m very sensitive to light, so have the soft natural light was great and it really helped all my art stand out. I love bright colors and positive, whimsical images, and this space helped people see my art in exactly the way I hoped they would.
Each day it was fun to walk in, get my coffee, and just look at the florals exhibits and take a moment to acknowledge the gratitude of that day.
I’d get my coffee, say a silent prayer of thanks for this new day, walk over by the Chilhuly sculpture, and look out at the lakefront. I never got tired of standing there to start my day.
And then, it was back to my booth to work! Each day brought new surprises and joy.
I met awesome people, got visits from artist friends who I adore, and heard many stories. The stories are always the biggest blessings for me. People tell me how they are touched by my art or share their own struggles and victories and this is a blessing for me.
