I’ve posted this particular Psalm before, but it is such a great one I don’t think you’ll mind if I do again. It is really a good one to reflect on often, maybe daily, to remind you of the gifts we get in this life. It is so easy to get bogged down in the saddness and negativity in this world. I feel like I need to constantly reflect on this and get myself centered. This is so many awful things that occur, so much pain, and to focus only on that leaves out the blessings. Each piece is a part of our life. I do not understand the bad things. I never will. We are not meant to know everything, and I have come to accept that.
Today, let’s look for inspiration in Psalm 118:24:
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
We are here. We live.
Try to find things that allow you to stop and pause on the goodness of life. This is what I do each time I see a sunset like this. I take these pictures often. I am someone that chases sunsets. I’ll drive further and further down the road, trying to see every last glimpse before the pink and orange of the sky turn dark.
I took this picture as we were heading home from a long day of work. I am blessed and grateful for this work! It gives me purpose, helps me feel close to God, and allows me to push away the negativity and darkness in the world. It helps me see the beauty in this life.
Every day is a gift.
