My husby and I have been decorating pumpkins for a long time. I was OBSESSED with glitter pumpkins in 2005 and remained so for quite a few a years!
My husband and I would get a lot of smaller pumpkins and glue and glitter our hearts out. It was so fun.
After a while, I went to gluing paper and poetry (of course!) on pumpkins.
Now, I just kind of doodle on pumpkins. They make a perfect surface for decorating and letting your creativity flow. While I like using dollar store pumpkins that I can keep from year to year, there is something cool about painting on real pumpkins that you know will be temporary. It makes the creation of it more freeing and precious at the same time.
Last year, we did an outside craft project with our “Little Brother” and squirted paint on pumpkins all messy and crazylike. It was a wild mix of colors and designs and lots and lots of mess. I had a blast.
Not sure what I might do this year. What about you guys? How do you like to decorate pumpkins?
