A still from a recent video taping session.
The video thing is out of my comfort zone and when my face starts doing this… it’s time for a break!
But you know what? Everything having to do with being an artist (besides the actually painting!) is out of my comfort zone. The shows, the videos, the talking to people (hello other introverts!) is uncomfortable but necessary for having a creative business. And that’s not a bad thing. You have to go outside what’s usual and comfortable if you want different things in your life, so don’t be afraid to go for it and don’t be afraid to fail. Failing and trying again are part of the process.
Recently I made a completely crooked Facebook live video…
…and chatted with crowds (which is hard for me)…
… and invited people to my upcoming show and put art out there and did Instagram stories and messed up and did well and messed up again… but it is all part of the process. Oh, and the snarky folks who like to make fun? They aren’t doing this stuff. It is easy to make fun of someone when you’re not out there taking risks.
So go for it… don’t be afraid.
Have a great weekend!
