Part of the fun of mixed media is combining a variety of elements to create a specific look. My favorite supplies include fluid acrylics, inks, paper, and oil sticks. But the list goes on!
I do get asked quite a bit why I combine things like oil sticks and acrylics, and if this “works.” All I can tell you is my experience. I make sure every layer is dried and cured before I add something. I’ve been doing mixed media for several years now and have had no problems. I also seal everything with a spray varnish so it lasts.
