Still playing… still exploring. Pretending I’m a kid again each time I sit down at the art table.
In the last year, I’ve been focused on all the business aspects of art (finding clients, doing craft shows, advertising) and it’s nice to turn the focus around to just creating again. I’m so grateful for this means of creative expression. I think art has power. I feel closer to God, more centered… when I sit in my little studio and create the images that are on my heart. Lately, I’ve been playing a lot with color.
I’m not usually into oranges and pinks but I like them here. And when I saw those three words in different parts of an old book, I knew I had to cut them out and use them.
“When love beckons to you follow him…”
Kahlil Gibran
Follow the love. I like the image that calls up, like a dog that smells something wonderful and just trots along happily until they locate it.
“…How amazing the love
that washes away shame,
and blankets fragile hearts
with grace…”
