One thing I like about the Bible is the different voices. They’re all witnesses, and they all take a slightly different approach in how they tell what they saw and heard. It might be the poet in me, but I really dig the words of John. So poetic and cerebral. I love it. And it starts with his first sentence:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
Oh, I love that. I’m going to have to do some pictures around that one. I’ve been looking for inspiration in the words of John and I’ve been focused on John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
But there’s ton of inspiration in John, and here’s some of the other pictures I’ve been working on.

And then there’s this: “In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:4. Oooh, I could meditate on that one for decades. So beautiful and sweeping. How can you not be inspired by this language, by the promise?
