In honor of National Poetry Month, I’ll be sharing a few of mine with you. This first one was written years and years ago about no one in particular! LOL I always get asked if there was someone it’s about, and I have to say no.
It’s about that feeling when you first fall in love with someone you’ve known for years only as a friend. It should be noted, I’ve never had this happen! I guess in my mind someone who is a friend stays a friend, but that’s just me.
This poem, “For True Love I Said a Prayer,” was published in my very first poetry book, The Difference Now, and is also in my New and Selected Poems. I wrote this for all those people who have experienced the feeling of falling in love with a friend.
