It’s been a cold and snowy week! After surviving the blizzard, now we have oodles of cold air blowing up our noses. So what’s a girl to do? Crochet of course!
I have an afghan project I’ve been meaning to get to, but lately I’ve only had small snippets of time to work on something. The last few nights I took some leftover yarn and made some potholders.
It was interesting, I asked DH what he thought about my potholders and he told me to sell them. He said people just don’t know how to do stuff anymore. Do you think that’s true? I’ve been doing crafts and crocheting so long I can’t imagine not having that as something to rely on. It’s creative and relaxing, plus I just like the feel of the yarn in my hands. I like choosing the colors and patterns. If he’s right, and people just aren’t being taught things like crochet anymore, well that’s just sad!
Okay, my slight crochet rant is over. Although you don’t often hear the words “rant” and “crochet” in the same sentence, do you?

LOL Cherie! I sometimes rant about crochet too 🙂 I love it, and just recently finished a project using wire and some great crystal beads. Gotta get it written up 🙂
Cherie says
Oooh, can’t wait to see your project. You always do such great work, Cyndi.

I think DH is correct. That explains why I was able to start selling the simplest of crafts almost 10 years ago. People would frequently say, “I could never do that!”
It always made me smile inside, ’cause I couldn’t understand why they thought they “could never” sew a simple tote bag or string a few beads.

DH is right! But we won’t tell him that, right? hee hee. No, you’re right, people just don’t know how to do stuff these days, but I’m glad we do. I don’t know what I’d do without my crafts.
