The Creative Entrepreneur Life – My Instagram Roundup

February 18, 2019 Leave a Comment

Every time I’ve done an Instagram Roundup, I’ve noticed a theme in my posts.

I don’t plan it that way, it just sort of occurs like that. In this Instagram Roundup, the feeling I got was just one of happiness at being able to do this stuff for a living. What an amazing blessing. Living a creative entrepreneur life is not always easy, but it has allowed me to live my dream, to take care of my health (much better than when I was in the corporate world) and connect with what I believe is my purpose. I do not take it for granted.

NEW PAINTING! Entitled: “Psalm 1” *16×20 inches on canvas. Housed in a light green frame. Picture looks lovely on a stand or hung on the wall. Wire hanger on back is included. *The picture was inspired by the first Psalm, which says “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” *This piece was created using acrylics, inks, oil pastel, papers, and other ephemera for a stunning mixed media effect. https://cherieburbach.com/product/psalm-1-original-painting/

Great gift idea for a friend. An original painting titled Sisters in Hope. *8×10 on canvas in a red wooden frame. *This is a painting honoring the women who share your hope, your true sister friends who love and support you. I chose bright colors and a whimsical vibe to convey the message of posibility, friendship, and triumph over adversity. https://cherieburbach.com/product/sisters-in-hope-original-painting/

I believe in creating art out of found objects. I skip stencils and premade backgrounds in favor of things I find around the house, like this GIANT bubble wrap, which was so fun to use. ???

NPR ran my popular “This I Believe” essay recording yesterday again on their podcast. My life is now a very cool and happy place, and has been for decades. It wasn’t always that way, and for anyone else who is going through what I did, I write to provide encouragement and hope. ____________ Some of you guys have experienced the same thing, and get this. Some of you don’t. And that’s good! If you don’t get it, you never experienced it, and I’m happy for that. ____________ Some people feel uncomfortable about my talking about this. Years ago, I got a three page nastygram from some random “cousin” that I met only one time years before, who proceeded to tell me how horrible I was. Obviously, someone who attacks another person in this way has their issues, so all you can do is pray for them and hope they get some sense. _____________ While it hurts to be attacked I also wonder what is going on in this person’s mind and heart to go out of their way to do that. I am reminded of advice in The Four Agreements, which says “Never take anything personally.” This is because someone that would attack another person does it because of something within themselves, and it has nothing to do with you. ______________ Telling our stories sometimes comes with the pain of being ridiculed or attacked. But my motiviation is always about hope and healing. I write for those who are experiencing painful situations that seem hopeless and unending, and I will always speak out so they can know that God is with them, and even right now is loving them through it. ____________

The Space Between Dreaming is a moving novel written with warmth and heart and which contains valuable wisdom. I loved that the work tackles difficult topics about childlessness, childhood trauma, and betrayal by friends with sensitivity. It tenderly captures the social and emotional toll of being childless. I loved the main characters and found them to be realistic and engaging. The work masterfully explores the themes of friendships and relationships, drawing important lessons that can be applied in real life. The inclusion of art and the process of painting also enhance the story. Cherie Burbach's unforgettable novel will resonate with readers for its applicable themes and compelling characters. Fans of women's novels will love it.

Cherie Burbach's writing is surprisingly vivid, this being her debut attempt. She can take you inside the character's mind within a span of words, all the things they're struggling with put bare before you. The prose isn't flowery, but gentle enough to nudge you into relating your traumas too, and heal as the characters do.

Loved learning more about art, and the community surrounding the people in the book. Couldn't wait for the next chapter and following the women in this story. I am hoping the author has a second book in mind, to continue the journey of Jane and Grace. I would recommend this to book clubs, so they could meet and discuss what they read and what they think will happen next.

A beautifully written story about the lives of two very interesting women who come together and form a life long bond. I love how this book is written. I found myself placed in the story like I was an innocent bystander watching each moment unfold and learning more about art than I ever thought possible. As the book ended, I found myself wanting more. My hope is that there is a 2nd book in the works so I can continue watching the friendships unfold and the lives of the main characters continue to grow!
