Our first project in Mixed Media Faces is fun but simple one. We use just four colors plus black and white to create an entire face. In Mixed Media Faces, we’ll create four different girl paintings using a variety of pigments. In one of the projects, we’re using gelatos combined with aquabord. Both of these are favorites of mine to use and create some interesting textures and colors. ___________ I love gelatos because you can use them dry or with water, put them on with a paintbrush or your fingers, you can use them on different surfaces, and in each case the color effect will vary, which makes it the perfect thing to use for mixed media paintings. One of my favorite ecourses to create was this one from the Painting the Psalms series. It highlights the verse “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” I’m a King David super fan, ya’ll! I love that we see a different side to him in the emotions of the Psalms, and I especially like that he is unapologetically appreciating that body the Lord gave him.
