This Moment Is Your Life – My Instagram Round Up

June 11, 2018 Leave a Comment

Hey guys, it’s been a faith-filled couple of weeks. I’ve been reminded of God’s love. I have had many personal challenges lately and have turned to him again and again. The challenges have reminded me of how short life is and how important each moment is in our lives.

Saw this at Urban Artique, how true it is. ____________________ This moment is where you decide to be kind, rather than apathetic, hurried, or rushed.  It is where you make time rather than deciding you don’t have time. ___________________ It is where you see that life is about to turn one way or the other, so you make the choice that will sit well with your soul. ___________________ This is the moment you decide to listen, rather than just waiting your turn to talk. _____________________ It is the moment you decide you got a second chance, and this time, you won’t squander it, thinking you’ll have another and another and another. ________________ This is the moment you will follow the path of grace. It is the moment you see you’ve been trying so hard to fit in, when you should have been welcomed in with open arms instead. __________________ This is the moment you decide to stop giving your time and attention to those who will never give you theirs unless you whine and remind and beg. __________________ This is the moment you stand, look up for guidance, and be the person God wants you to be rather than society and your friends and well-meaning people who just don’t get it. _______________ This is the moment, your entire life.

“If I had a flower for every time I thought of you…I could walk through my garden forever.” ― Alfred Lord Tennyson

When I was a kid, church was a solemn affair. You weren’t encouraged to get loud or smile too far. You had to be “respectable.” ________________ Then, twenty years ago I went to a church where something odd happened to me. I started crying during the service out of HAPPINESS. I felt grateful for God, and all he had brought me through, and I wept with gratitude. __________________ I still cry occasionally in church. Like today, when I see people getting baptized, publicly declaring their love for the Lord. When I sing and feel what the words of those songs mean. Inside I am shouting, “Happy Day!” even as tears may fall. Church is no longer a solemn affair for me. Even in the tears that come there is joy. Joy and gratitude. ??

Our fears have weight. They are limiting forces in our lives, They keep us from doing what we were meant to do in this world, and most of all, they keep us farther from God than we should be. __________________ We have a unique (and fun!) art project that helps us identify all those fears so we can release them to God in my ecourse, “Getting Closer to God Through Mixed Media Art.” Join us. ___________________ https://cherieburbach.com/product/getting-closer-to-god-through-mixed-media-art/

One reason I like mixed media is because it is messy. It involves taking bits and pieces and turning them into something beautiful, a work of art. Want to learn more? A woman at the craft fair on Sunday asked me what happens when you don’t get an answer from God. She was emotional about it, as anyone who has experienced unanswered prayers is. It is difficult to think that we are sending out prayers to God and feeling that he is ignoring them. But what I know is that he always answers them, but sometimes it is not in the way we think. _____________ Sometimes, God gives us a different solution, and because we’re looking for that ONE THING we are praying about, we miss his answer. ____________ Sometimes, we expect the answer right away, and find out God’s timing is different. ___________ It can be so hard when we reach out to God and feel that he isn’t listening, but this I tell you: HE IS LISTENING. He cares. I don’t always understand the ways he is working for me in my life, but I know he is. I also go through times when life is so very hard and I wonder where he is, but later, when my vision is clearer, I can see him there, answering me. ______________ When you’re struggling and you don’t hear him, continue talking to him. Ask him to show you in a way you can understand. Ask him to help you listen. And then quiet your mind, away from the noise and social media and everything that is louder than God’s voice, and pay attention to the things he says to you. ________________ If you need extra prayers, I am always here. I take prayer requests at my blog: https://cherieburbach.com/2013/05/13/can-i-pray-for-you/. You can list them or email them to me. ______________ We also have a team of writers at Putting on the New that are happy to pray for you as well: http://www.puttingonthenew.com/2014/03/26/can-we-pray-for-you/. _____________ And you always have direct access to God. Always always always. ??

Have to post this #FF pic since it’s been cracking me up for two days now. My friend Tina is next to me. I am the one with the severe bangs, French twist, green suit, and pearls. I don’t remember wearing that much makeup in those days but it sure looks like I had a lot on in this picture. The woman in purple is Olympic speed skater Bonnie Blair (look her up). Seeing this picture reminds me of how much I did not belong in the corporate world.

Stopped in at Urban Artique today to show my husby the cool wall they built especially for the artists they sell. Love this store! So many cool things in there.

This is something my auntie has told me again and again: Use your creative gifts. _______________ YOU are here on this earth for a reason. You were given gifts no one else has, and when you use these gifts you help this world become a better place. Use your gifts to bless others and focus on what God wants for your life. _________________ We talk more about this in my ecourse, “Getting Closer to God Through Mixed Media Art.” _____________ Join us! ______________ https://cherieburbach.com/product/getting-closer-to-god-through-mixed-media-art/

The Space Between Dreaming is a moving novel written with warmth and heart and which contains valuable wisdom. I loved that the work tackles difficult topics about childlessness, childhood trauma, and betrayal by friends with sensitivity. It tenderly captures the social and emotional toll of being childless. I loved the main characters and found them to be realistic and engaging. The work masterfully explores the themes of friendships and relationships, drawing important lessons that can be applied in real life. The inclusion of art and the process of painting also enhance the story. Cherie Burbach's unforgettable novel will resonate with readers for its applicable themes and compelling characters. Fans of women's novels will love it.

Cherie Burbach's writing is surprisingly vivid, this being her debut attempt. She can take you inside the character's mind within a span of words, all the things they're struggling with put bare before you. The prose isn't flowery, but gentle enough to nudge you into relating your traumas too, and heal as the characters do.

Loved learning more about art, and the community surrounding the people in the book. Couldn't wait for the next chapter and following the women in this story. I am hoping the author has a second book in mind, to continue the journey of Jane and Grace. I would recommend this to book clubs, so they could meet and discuss what they read and what they think will happen next.

A beautifully written story about the lives of two very interesting women who come together and form a life long bond. I love how this book is written. I found myself placed in the story like I was an innocent bystander watching each moment unfold and learning more about art than I ever thought possible. As the book ended, I found myself wanting more. My hope is that there is a 2nd book in the works so I can continue watching the friendships unfold and the lives of the main characters continue to grow!
