Like many creatives, I work most days. It’s because I love what I do, but also, things are always busy when you work for yourself. I am also aware of the time I need to spend away from work: with friends, quiet reflection time, prayer. I am much more focused on balance these days, especially after my hip injury last year. I have learned that you can’t power through to create more, you actually need to give yourself the time to sit with a friend or enjoy nature to give your brain a break from the treadmill mindset of creating.
I’m keeping this attitude of balance in mind as I’m working on lots of different projects behind the scenes these days. In the works:: a new poetry and art book, a new online class subscription, new products, and eventually, a new novel. Trying to work in time blocks to get it all done.
I’m also moving ahead with live painting sessions online, and you’ll see those begin in the next couple weeks. You all give me great feedback with the things you’re looking for, and I listen to each while I move forward. I’m so grateful to be able to do this work and I cherish everyone who support my business so I can continue.
