It is amazing what God has done with my “This I Believe” essay. Today I came across a podcast listing, where my recorded essay is listed as the 3rd most popular on This I Believe, which is incredible given the amount of celebrities on the site! Mine is just ahead of John McCain’s. (What! š³)
This essay has been taught in colleges, elementary schools, and has a life of its own, entirely done by God. I remember scribbling this thing out, not editing it, and not thinking about it again until someone from NPR told me how popular it had become a few months later.
I would have done a lot of things differently in writing this, had I known what it would become. But I guess that’s the point, you don’t need to be perfect to have God do amazing things through our words, art, kindness, and all ways we choose to spend our time.
