While National Poetry Month is still going on, I wanted to share my review from the Writers Digest Self-Publised Book Awards last year for my book Poiema.
“The poet has a firm command of metaphor, form, line break, and stanza, and the poems contained show a broad arc of work that spans over a decade exploring topics like family, abuse, domesticity, aging, and, obliquely, faith. This collection of poems is honest and digestible and, through its discussion of the joys and pitfalls of domestic life, deeply human.”
Deeply human is what I want to be. How about you?
