Let me tell you a little bit about this painting, “The Blessing of Work.” It was inspired by my grandma, who was a good old-fashioned farm girl and loved to dig in the dirt. She enjoyed the process of work, whether it was working in a factory during the war or cleaning a toilet or making a meal. She put her whole soul into the joy of human endeavor.
My grandmother has influenced me in so many ways and I painted this work as a tribute to her and all the women who work in any form. This painting has been exhibited at the Grohmann Museum, the Neville Public Museum, and Alverno College
