Sometimes, we rework a piece and change it, add to it. Many times we just don’t love our work even though others might. This is the image I eventually settled on, but I didn’t love the original (second photo). I also had this original in a gift shop years ago and they carelessly placed a sticker on top of it and ripped off the paint on top. So when I got it back, I thought it was an opportunity to rework it.
I now like this work a lot, and it reminds me of the power of transformation and how what we think is “done” might just be a stop along the way. The current painting is available in my shop.
