I’ve been listening this week to Third Day’s “Kicking and Screaming” off of their Miracle album. I love the song and when I listen to it I picture myself being dragged away from God, and how I would kick and scream and hold on to his leg like a little kid if that were to happen.
Is that what happens in real life? Do I go kicking and screaming or do I follow the bad roads easily? Sometimes I do trip up all too quickly. So why in my head do I have this vision of me holding on so deeply?
As I think about God’s love I know how blessed I am, we are, to have it. Sometimes I look at my life and this past that could have meant a really messed up, terrible life for me. But God had other plans. I didn’t know it then. I seldom know it when it’s happening. It’s only later, with years of experience and insight that I’m able to look back and see just how big of an impact God has had on my life. And I don’t need to kick and scream in order to hold on because He’s got me.
Still, I think the song “Kicking and Screaming” is a good one. Here’s Third Day’s lead singer, Mac Powell, with some background on it.
And of course, here’s the song!
It’s great, isn’t it? Here’s a passage to go along with that thought.
