A memory that popped up in my timeline about a poem I wrote years ago about just letting go and allowing God to give you the blessings you were meant for. This isn’t as easy as it sounds. We hold on to thoughts and beliefs and dreams and some of them are difficult to let go of.
There is a balance to holding on to a goal you’re working toward or a dream you want for yourself and coming to the realzation that perhaps this one particular thing isn’t meant for you. I have had to do this with things I wanted so desperately for myself, things that I longed for and prayed about, and there are times when I had to give it over to God and just allow him to heal the hurt of disappointment so I could accept the blessings He was trying to give me instead. While we all have issues and troubles, none of our lives are the same, and yet they are all important to God. Don’t be afraid to go to Him with your disappointments and pain. He will love you through it. I promise you this.
This poem is included in the book Poiema.
