Why do I start bawling anytime I see something about Mister Rogers? Maybe it is because he spoke to us directly as children. He spoke to the broken pieces in us and made it okay to be exactly who we were. Not all of us rec’d that as children. Some of us were hit, belittled, abused. Some of us were afraid to go to sleep in their own house because of things that went on. His show was kind, slow in pace, and direct. He did not shy away from current events and he did not sugarcoat life, and yet, he offered hope. That is all any of us want. I’ve learned through my own life that we all need hope daily. This is something we can give each other.
I cannot wait to see this movie.
