Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do.
Helen Keller
Had the priviledge of a day off recently and decided to use it to soak up the beauty of the world around us. I’ve been wanted to get out to Stonebank for quite a while to view the gorgeous sunflower field, and finally! it happened.
It was a beautiful, sunny, clear day. That sky was so blue and gorgeous, it was beyond inspiring. There is a happiness and peace that comes with the sun, isn’t there?
Maybe that is why sunflowers are so special.
So many people I know love sunflowers. I think they inspire us with the way they reach toward the sky and turn their faces each day to the sun. There is poetry in their rough edges and bright color.
To stand in a field where sunflowers go on and on, where you are surrounded like that, was awe-inspiring. For someone like me, who enjoys nature and color and flowers, I felt this was a grace-filled moment. It truly ignited my soul.
