It was such a thrill for me to get juried into the League of Milwaukee Artists. I think it is so important to meet other creative people when you are a creative yourself. We all need to support each other.
And imagine how thrilled I was to find out that Don Nedobeck was going to be the featured speaker on the day where I was introduced. I got to stand up and tell the group about my art and the influences that have helped me on my creative journey. (And you know that whole talking in front of a group thing is not my thing!) But it was great to meet some of the other artists, and especially cool to see Don Nedobeck. He is a huge inspiration. Lifelong artist and musician. We heard about his process, his way of creating, and his life.
So much inspiration!
My mother-in-law’s friend Joy encouraged me to join, and she was at this meeting, too.
So it was nice to see her, and to meet all the artists who were there. I’m so excited about some of the opportunities they are creating for artists in this area. It is a reminder of the strength in numbers. We can all rise when we continue to lift each other up.
So thank you for the big welcome and I look forward to being part of the group.
