This month, Putting on the New turns 3. I can hardly believe it. So much has happened in three years. So many blessings have come out of that site.
I started the site with a vision that women from all different walks of life and all different experiences would write about their stories. Really, it was all about stories and things they were experiencing. I wanted a variety of ages and backgrounds. That was the vision, but I really had no idea how to do it all or make it work. I plowed ahead with my idea without having it all figured out and God took care of it. Today, it is a site filled with a variety of women, a variety of thoughts, different takes on things and different ideas and views… and yet the one unifying tie is a love for Jesus.
It’s a been a beautiful challenge managing these 30-some women who all have different ideas and ways of doing things. I am blessed to know each of them. The stories they have shared, the way they have generous shared their gifts with the world… I am humbled every day when I click over to the site and read the newest post.
We have had guest posts, people that have come and gone, and many that have been there for years. We now have things like a dedicated Pinterest page and weekly newsletter. In our private Facebook group we share our personal troubles, pray for each other, and encourage each other. These women have become some of my favorite prayer warriors.
Blogging has been a big part of my life and career, and it’s been a gift to be able to create this type of blogging ministry with a site that is written by women and for women.
