It’s the end of September and mother nature is having an identity crisis. We’ve hit some super chilly days (one of which was during a craft show unfortunately) and some hot ones. This is a time where the air conditioner will be on at one point in the day and the heat on during the other.
But it doesn’t matter, because I’ve been enjoying my blog tour for 100 Simple Ways to Have More Friends and the start of Packer Season. And, of course, I’ve found a few more things I love that I just can’t live without. Behold:
Source Organic Whey Protein
I have tried all kinds of protein powders and usually hated them all. I hate having that icky taste in whatever I’m putting the powder in. But alas, I’ve finally found one I like. There’s no taste, it’s light, and mixes really well with my smoothies. Now, the Source Organic Whey Protein powder is not cheap, but it’s so good I still think it’s worth a shout out. I ordered mine on Amazon but it might be cheaper in a health food store.
Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud… or Picture… or Anything Ed Sheeran
I’m not unique in this of course, but I am totally grooving on anything Ed Sheeran. My husband jokes that Ed is my second favorite redhead behind him. He calls him “my boy.” Like, Hey babe your boy is on the radio now! Or, Oooh, I better be quiet because your boy is singing.
He’s my boy. For reals. First came X, and I didn’t think it was possible to love any song more than “Thinking Out Loud” but then I got hooked on “Picture” and that’s been my jam ever since. I have + in my car now. Love.
Don Featherstone
You know that Don Featherstone invented the pink flamingo, right? I adore quirky, creative people who do their thing. Mr. Featherstone passed away a few weeks ago and I sent out an RIP on Instagram, along with an admission that I once had eight pink flamingos in my yard. I love them. (#pinkflamingosforever) But only the ones he created.
He also created other light ’em up masterpieces, like these pilgrims and turkey. I got this happy little group at a rummage over the summer for just a buck each. I adore them. Don Featherstone, you will be missed!
Cuisinart Tea Kettle
I had a cheapie tea kettle for years. Got it for a quarter at a rummage sale and used it until it died. Getting a new tea kettle to be just the right size and shape and function and color isn’t as easy as it sounds. LOL It takes some serious sleuthing to find the right one. I finally did with this Cuisinart Tea Kettle. I love the blue color and the design.
Farmer’s Market Flowers
I’ve been a fan of the farmer’s market… any farmer’s market… forever. I just like the whole vibe of getting fresh veggies, a bunch of flowers, misc crafts, and maybe a good sandwich, all while you’re out with other people in your community enjoying the morning. Lately, though, I am obsessed with getting flowers from our local market. And you would believe these two bouquets were just $7 and $5? I know.
So it appeals to the flower lover in me and the frugalista that is never far from the surface. Plus, my husband encourages me to get them and how can I say no to him? He likes how they brighten up the house, too.
