I’ve been thinking a lot about hope. Have you ever felt like you’d been so beaten down that you couldn’t even allow hope into your heart? That you were actually afraid of hope now? We’ve all felt that a time or two. Some of us more than others. Some of us have had a very rough time of things, and hope seems silly and stupid now. Hope seems like fool’s gold.
But it’s not.
Hope is the very thing you can keep in your heart, even when you don’t have room for a single other thing. Hope will fit in no matter what else has happened. Is your heart broken? Battered? Hope will fit in there, just don’t turn the welcome sign off.
I have a new poem about hope, and used some of the lines to illustrate the concept of hope.
