I love the feeling that you get a “do over.” You know? That’s one reason I like the feeling right after a rainfall, or when the spring comes around, or when I wake up each morning. I feel like I get a chance to start again and make things better than before.
Perhaps that’s why I adore this quote from 2 Corinthians so much.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. ~2 Corinthians 5:17
A new creation.
I was so young when I came to Christ, that I’ve never really knew my life without Him, but I love hearing about people who are “born again” and who feel so differently about their lives. I like hearing about this feeling that their life is totally different, and totally new.
I think one of the really great things about God is that you can feel this way all the time. If you’ve got a burden, guilt, shame… whatever… you bring it to God and ask Him to lift it from you. When He does, your life feels “new” again. This is one of the best gifts about being a follower of Christ, I think.
