A while back I blogged about doing a mixed media picture with poetry, and Eileen from my artsy blogging group commented that they really enjoyed the poem I had included. (The poem was “Today, I Take From Me” from The Difference Now and also included in my new book, New and Selected Poems. She indicated that she was a poetry lover, and since I had just released a book of poetry (and because her art is such an inspiration to me) I sent her a copy of New and Selected Poems.
Eileen has just reviewed my book on her wonderful blog and I was really touched by it. You know, it’s interesting to me how poetry affects people in different ways. I’m always amazed that the same words can touch people on different emotional levels. Eileen says:
There’s a lot wisdom about growing up, growing into your true self, and developing your gifts against all odds.
I recommend this book to any crafter or artist who sometimes doubts her abilities or doubts where she is going.
I loved that she related the words to art and crafts. I hadn’t thought of it being related to that before, but now that she has mentioned it I can definitely see where the poems would call up the creative world. She taught me something new with her review. I hope you will check it out!!
