I once heard someone say that if you refuse to make a decision, then you are still making a decision. This means if you wait for other people to make things happen, that’s your choice. Your decision. You can’t complain later that things happened to you. You still had a choice.
They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
―Andy Warhol
Even more crazy are the people that complain about a situation and then never work to change it. They just wait, as if time is going to give them the answer or situation they most desire. While I agree that acquiescing to the laws of nature and God is a good thing, I also know that God wants us to work. He wants us to be productive citizens, and make decisions. He wants us to improve things. How do I know this? Because He gave us free will. He wanted us to think for ourselves and be smart creatures.
Being smart means that sometimes you also have to be brave and change your life. It can be so difficult. I know that very well. It’s usually never fun (at first.) But often, when you finally make a change that you’ve been dreading, it feels as if a weight is lifted off our shoulders.
Never be afraid to be bold and make a change to improve your life. Don’t settle for a life that doesn’t suit you. If you want something to happen, pray with all your heart and work for it. God will help you, but if you aren’t looking for it you’ll miss His help. Allow him to answer your prayers in this way.
