Years ago I wrote a poem about forgiveness, and when I look back at that poem now, one word stands out: embrace. Specifically, this line: “I embrace this life as a child of God.” The poem is titled “Forgive” and was published in my first book, The Difference Now.
When I created this painting, I thought about this poem and how that particular phrase had meant healing and emotional health to me. I wanted to create an image that represented a woman who had been through things and stood steadfastly centered, hands clasped in prayer and a look of contentment on her face.
This vibrant print was created using acrylics, ink, lace, and other ephemera.
